Pauline Pearson - Methodist Church Window

I have lived in Pirton for 33 years. We decided that Pirton was a lovely village and when we saw the plans for the Oaks Estate (which later became Bunyan Close and Cromwell Way) we bought our first home. After 19 years we moved to our present house which had been Nurse Baldwin's home for many years. Both our daughters were born in Pirton.

On moving to Pirton we were welcomed with open arms into the Methodist Church (in the High Street) and it has continue to be a large part of our lives. The lovely building is over 90 years old and has 12 beautiful stained glass windows. The simplicity of their design reminds me of the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and this is why I chose to use a window as my tapestry.

This was my first attempt at tapestry and I enjoyed sewing my design but need the drawing skills of my husband Matthew in the initial stages.
